Rajampet, a majority rural town about 130 miles northwest of Chennai, is home to a community of elderly farmers and miners. Many in this area have lived for years with blindness caused by cataracts, a condition that severely limits their ability to work and care for themselves and their families. Access to eye care is often limited, and the prospect of restoring their sight is out of reach for many.

In late July, our team traveled over 8,900 miles to Rajampet with a mission to make a difference. Partnering with CarePlus Eye Hospitals, who generously provided their facilities, we were able to offer free cataract surgeries to those in need. Over the course of the mission, we saw more than 50 patients regain their vision, giving them not only the gift of sight but also a renewed sense of independence and hope.

Thanks to the incredible support we received from our community and the commitment of our partners, we can now proudly say that more than 70 villagers with progressive vision loss have had their sight restored, with every procedure completed without complications. It was a powerful reminder of how much can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.

We remain dedicated to continuing these efforts in the future, inspired by the belief that everyone deserves access to medical care and the ongoing need for compassionate care in underserved regions. We are committed to building on this foundation, reaching more people in need, and preserving vision for life.
